21 Perfect Prayer Card Poems

Inside: Best prayer card poems to inspire this new season.

If there is one thing that I love about knowing god, it is the ability that he has to uplift the other believers. As people, we tend to lean on him in our hardest moments. This is when we find the most comfort. But I have found that my connection with the divine is deeper when I lean on it at happy moments in my life as well.

That is where prayer cards come in handy. I want to be able to share this feeling of love and wisdom with people as they go about their daily lives. Prayer cards allow them to take a little bit of wisdom with them everywhere they go so that they can lean when they want to.

I wanted to share with you some of my favorite prayer card poems that are just perfect for any occasion. There is so much wisdom to be found within these words!

What Is A Prayer Card?

Typically, a prayer card will be small in size and have 2 different sides: One of which will have a photo that shows a biblical scene, the other will contain a poem.

Depending on how large your card(or how small your font is), you can fit different sizes of poems. The point of these cool little cards is to help spread the word of god around to people. They are small, so you can keep them with you and pass them out to people who are interested.

Honestly, they come in handy at the weirdest of times. I remember back when I was having a really off day. I was running late and was super stressed out. I looked down on my way to my car and saw that I had a prayer card stuck to my foot. I must have stepped on it on the sidewalk, but I picked it up, and the poem on the back was the first one on the list below.

It made me take a breath, and then I proceeded to have the best day I could remember in a long time.

If you are interested in sharing god’s love with the world then you need to keep reading. The list below is full of some wonderful prayer card poems.

Classic Biblical Poems

Sometimes, the classic prayer card poems are best suited for the task. Whether you be experiencing grief(check out these grief poems for more help) or extreme happiness, these are always just the right message.

1. Be Happy

Be happy,
Be cheerful,
Be joyful,
Be ecstatic,

God has something wonderful for you.

2. Never Forget

Never forget that the Lord is with you
Keep believing that you can pull through
Trust in yourself that you can do whatever
even if you feel like fainting wherever.
All it takes is one push
And you’ll get there in rush
whatever waves that come your way
You’ll make it an other way.
Tell anyone close to you,
“hey, you can do it too!”

3. Prayer Poem

Teach me, Lord,
What I don’t know.
Show me which way
And where to go.
Alone I stumble,
Alone I fall,
But your gentle voice
Leads through it all.
Take my hand,
Light my way,
Be my beacon
Night and day.
I am weak
And sometimes so low,
But you give me strength
And make me whole.
Teach me, Lord and Father.
Your child has become like new.
Empty me of myself
So I can live for you.

Be Happy. Be Happy. Be cheerful. Be joyful. Be Estatic. God has something wonderful waiting for you.

4. A Mother’s Love Prayer

Lord, help me be the Mother
You’ve chosen me to be,
One parent with a loving heart,
The mother of my three.

Give me wisdom and courage.
A righteous and faithful leader I’ll be,
So I may live through you, Lord,
An example of good I may be.

Teach me patience and understanding,
Grant me compassion and kindness too,
So my daughters may desire a tender heart,
Being kind, forgiving, and true.

Help me show them the way to salvation,
Lord, and the value of their souls,
So they may sustain love, hope, and faith,
That will lead them on their pathway home.

Remind me to hold them tightly
And tenderly let them go
So they might feel my comfort and love
When at times they may feel alone.

And in our body’s absence, Lord,
I’m praying they may know
The only need that they would have
Is what I’ve instilled in their heart and soul.

5. Afterglow

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one, I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when the day is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, of happy memories that I leave behind when the day is done.

6. Battle Hymn Republic

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;

He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;

His truth is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

7.  Do Not Stand

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glints on snow,

I am the sunlight on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circled flight,

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there, I did not die.

8. God Saw

God saw you getting tired,

And a cure was not to be.

So He put His arms around you

and whispered “Come to Me.”

With tearful eyes we watched you,

and saw you pass away.

Although we loved you dearly,

We could not make you stay.

Your golden heart stopped beating,

Your hard working hands to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best.

9. God’s Garden

God looked around his garden

And found and empty place.

He then looked down upon the earth,

and he saw your tired face.

He put his arms around you

And lifted you to rest.

God’s garden must be beautiful,

He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,

He knew that you would never get

well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough,

And the hills were hard to climb.

So He closed your weary eyelids,

and whispered “Peace be thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose you,

But you didn’t go alone

For part of us went with you

The day God called you home.

10. Hail Mary

Hail Mary full of grace,

the Lord is with thee:

blessed art thou among women

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,

now, and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Perfect Prayer Card Poems

I always feel so inspired after reading these. God created this beautiful earth for us to feel good. If you want some earth day fun, check out these earth day acrostic poems. The most important thing is that you feel connected to divine wisdom. These cards help that connection.

11. I Do Not Go Alone

If Death should beckon me with outstretched hand and whisper softly of “An Unknown Land”; I shall not be afraid to go. For though the path I do not know, I take Death’s Hand without a fear, for He who safely brought me here will also take me safely back. And though in many things I lack, He will not let me go alone into the “Valley That’s Unknown”… So I reach out and take Death’s Hand and journey to the “Promise Land”.

12. Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name.

Thy Kingdom come, thy will

be done, on earth as it is in

heaven. Give us this day our

daily bread. And forgive us our

trespasses, as we forgive those

who trespass against us. And

lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

the power and the glory,

for ever and ever. Amen

13. May the Angels

May the angels take you into Paradise: may the martyrs come to welcome you on your way, and lead you into the holy city, Jerusalem. May the choir of angels welcome you, and with Lazarus who once was poor may you have ever lasting rest.

14. Your Gentle Face

Your gentle face and patient smile, with sadness we recall. You had a kindly word for each, and died beloved by all. The voice is mute and stilled the heart, that loved us well and true. Ah, bitter was the trial to part from one so good as you. You are not forgotten loved one, nor will you ever be. As long as life and memory last, we will remember thee. We miss you now, our hearts are sore, as time goes by we miss you more, your loving smile, your gentle face, no one can take your vacant place.

15. Perhaps

Perhaps

Perhaps you sent a lovely card

Or sat quietly in a chair;

Perhaps you sent a floral spray,

If so, we saw it there.

Perhaps you spoke the kindest words

As any friend could say;

Perhaps you were not there at all

Just thought of us that day.

Wherever you did

To console our hearts,

We thank you so much,

Whatever the part.

16. Life Is But A Stopping Place

Life is but a stopping place,

a pause in what’s to be,

a resting place along the

road to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,

different paths along the way,

we all were meant to learn some

things, but never meant to stay.

Our destination is a place

far greater than we know,

for some, the journey’s quicker,

for some the journey’s slow.

And when the journey finally ends,

we’ll claim a great reward,

and find an everlasting peace,

together with the Lord.

17. Remember Me

Remember me when flowers bloom early in the spring
Remember me on sunny days in the fun that summer brings
Remember me in the fall as you walk through leaves of gold
And remember me in the wintertime in the stories that are told
But most of all remember Each day, right from the start
I will be forever near For I live within your heart

18. Treasured Seasons

For everything there is an appointed season,
And a time for everything under heaven-
A time for sharing, a time for caring.
A time for loving, a time for giving;
A time for remembering, a time for parting.
You have made everything beautiful in its time
For everything You do remains forever.

19. Grieve Not

Grieve not…nor speak of me with tears…
but laugh and talk of me as though I were beside you.
I loved you so…’twas Heaven here with you.

20. I believe in Angels

I believe in angels –that they’re always hovering near,
Whispering encouragement whenever clouds appear.
Protecting us from danger and showing us the way,
Performing little miracles, within our lives each day…
Yes, I believe in angels, and I’m sure that you do too,
And I’m convinced that angels are watching over you.
I still think angels sometimes come to wipe our tears away…
When night seems darkest,
I believe we’ll see a light shine clear,
and when the storm is gone,
I’m sure a rainbow will appear…

21. Taps

Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hill, From the sky.
All is well, safely rest God is nigh. Thanks and praise, for our days,
‘Neath the sun, ‘neath the stars, ‘Neath the sky.
As we go, this we know, God is nigh. Amen.
